About GeoMicro, Inc.
History
Founded in 1997, GeoMicro's founders recognized that web based mapping from existing mapping companies were too complex, and didn't scale well enough for enterprise applications. It looked like Geographic Intelligence, was destined to remain siloed in the GIS professional office and used primarily for data analysis, rather than being distributed to the hundreds, or thousands of employees that could use the technology in the day to day operations of the company. By using mapping and navigation, it is possible to make smarter and faster decisions that improve business operations and save money on a daily basis.
GeoMicro was founded in 1997 with the single purpose of using Internet Technology to bring Internet Mapping and Geographic Intelligence to the business world.
In 1998 the first AltaMap Server was released to much acclaim within the GIS industry. It was adopted by many county, municipal governments and engineering firms to publish their maps on the web. During the past few years, businesses have begun to embrace web based business applications because of the universal access and easy centralized management.
GeoMicro differentiates itself from all other competing offerings with a unique combination of:
- A deep, feature rich and customizable platform,
- Ease of use (you don't have to be a GIS professional to make it work), and
- Scalability and speed matched only by large portals with limited features and fine tuned for on specific function.
GeoMicro is positioned as the top choice to add Mapping and Geographic Intelligence to business operations. Allowing employees at all levels to make smarter, faster decisions that slash costs and increase customer satisfaction.
Though our OEM partners and direct sales, AltaMap is used by thousands of companies, including the US Navy, GE, AccuWeather, and MapQuest. After 10 years providing GeoMicro looks forward to the next decade of growth, innovation, and customer satisfaction.
